about

This song was written and recorded in three parts in three houses in the middle of the winter. This was the first song recorded for the album but at the time I didn’t know it. Zack Gerzon and I were recording his cello parts when I picked up Zack's electric guitar, turned on the amps, and coincidentally the guitar was in tune and the tremolo was perfectly on beat with the cadence of the song. I recorded the song as a two-song EP that I recorded and produced myself and later rebuilt for this album with the help of Zack Gerzon and Tyler Fortier.

lyrics

Say, you want more warmth?
How to get that feeling back?
A cross between comfort and a heart attack
Darling, you’re crying out the lines of a poem
Overflowing and flooding what's left of this home

Willfully lost
Blind leading blind
Wandering these sidewalks
In search of starlight

Say, you want more love?
Don’t go holding someone else
For silence weighs heavy when shame is on the scales
It's a losing man's game
The lines drawn in love are pleasure and pain
We both know these threats
It's just a ship without sails
Ride the crest of the wave till the nightmares prevail

Willfully lost
Blind leading blind
Wandering these sidewalks
In search of daylight

Wandering these thoughts
Searching for a sign
